Making Home ownership a Reality

Are you currently renting and dreaming of owning a home, but you don’t have the down payment in the bank? The District offers two programs that can help make home ownership dreams a reality.

Funding for both programs is limited, and will be available based on eligibility requirements and receipt of complete and eligible applications.

The Gateway Muskoka Home ownership Program is a locally funded down payment assistance program designed to help families and individuals with modest incomes make home ownership a reality. The program joins other local housing initiatives that make up the Muskoka Affordable Housing Initiative Program (MAHIP).

The Gateway program provides eligible families and individuals with down payment assistance for purchasing a home. The program was initiated by a local couple who recognized the need for an affordable home ownership program in the District of Muskoka.
