The Corporation of the Town of Kapuskasing

take notice that tenders are invited for the purchase of the lands described below and will be received until 4:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the Civic Centre at 88 Riverside Drive, Kapuskasing, Ontario.

The Tenders will then be opened in public on the same day at 4:30 p.m. at the Civic Centre.

Description of Land(s):

Parcel 1064 Centre Cochrane, (PIN # 65105-0410), being lot 407 on Plan M-45 Temiskaming located in the Township of O’Brien in the Town of Kapuskasing in the District of Cochrane (Vacant land at 89 Mundy Avenue).

Minimum Tender Amount: $9,230.97

Parcel 5463 Centre Cochrane, (PIN # 65117-0078), Part lot 16, Concession 12 being part 5 on CR93, except part 5on 6R6714 located in the Township of O’Brien in the Town of Kapuskasing in the District of Cochrane (Commercial/residential property at 324 Government Road East)

Minimum Tender Amount: $42,390.11

Parcel 8763 Centre Cochrane, being part lot 1029 on Plan M-155 Cochrane, part 1 on reference plan CR651 and Part lot 1030 on Plan M-155 Cochrane, part 1 on reference plan 6R1880 located in the Township of O’Brien in the Town of Kapuskasing in the District of Cochrane (Commercial property at 37 Byng Avenue)

Minimum Tender Amount: $31,453.72

Tenders must be submitted in the prescribed form and must be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a money order or of a bank draft or cheque certified by a bank or trust corporation payable to the municipality and representing at least 20 per cent of the tender amount.

Except as follows, the municipality makes no representation regarding the title to or any other matters relating to the land to be sold. Responsibility for ascertaining these matters rests with the potential purchasers.

These sales are governed by the Municipal Act, 2001 and the Municipal Tax Sales Rules made under that Act. The successful purchasers will be required to pay the amount tendered plus accumulated taxes, the relevant land transfer tax and their own legal fees.

The municipality has no obligation to provide vacant possession to the successful purchaser.
