Canadians on the Forbes list* The fortune of David Thomson and family is estimated at $13 billion US, according to the Forbes list, which ranked them No. 24. The family holds a 70 per cent stake in the media conglomerate Thomson Reuters.
* With a net worth of $5 billion, Galen Weston and family of Galen Weston Ltd. and Loblaw Co. ranked 98th on the Forbes list.
* James, Arthur & John Irving of Irving Oil have a net worth of $3.9 billion, according to Forbes. The brothers were 146th on the list.
