ONTARIO ELECTRICITY SUPPORT PROGRAM (OESP)

What is the Ontario Electricity Support Program?

When can I apply?

You can apply any time. The program began accepting applications in late October 2015.

When will I start seeing the on-bill credits?

Credits are applied to bills for electricity used on or after January 1, 2016.

Credits are not applied retroactively to January 1, 2016, but all eligible customers will receive on-bill credits for two years regardless of when a customer applies and their credits begin. See “How do I Apply?”

Customers who apply after January 1, 2016, or whose applications are resubmitted close to January 1, will still receive on-bill credits for two years.

There is no date by which customers must submit applications.

If you need assistance before the OESP begins, please contact your electricity utility or visit the OEB website for more information about other low-income programs that may be available to you.
